Poetry is a way of self expression that sounds better if it rhymes. There are many different forms and types of poetry, such as songs, sonnets, or haiku's. To me poetry usually flows very well, and is not very lenghty.
I agree it definitely sounds better if it rhymes. While I was writing my poem for my presentation it didn't rhyme at first because I thought it would be easier to write, but then I had to go back and change it because it did not sound right.
